Acceptable Usage Policy

The use of products and services provided by LinuxFox Private Limited (LinuxFox.com), hereafter referred to as "LinuxFox", constitutes your agreement to the following "Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP)" in addition to the other terms and conditions mentioned here.

(1) Shared Hosting AUP

Customers may not initiate any of the following; if any customer does, LinuxFox reserves the right to suspend or terminate the account.

(A) Misuse of Resources: Intentional misuse of system resources, including but not limited to running programs that consume excessive network capacity, CPU cycles, or disk I/O that can affect the performance of other websites hosted on the same server.
(B) Use 20% or more of system CPU resources for longer then 90 seconds.
(C) Use of any distributed computing software, including but not limited to SETI@home, Node Zero, and Folding@home.
(D) Run any file sharing, bit torrent or other P2P network services, client or server software.
(E) Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, battlefield 1492, etc.
(F) Use more than 200,000 inodes.

Please note that these are soft limits and not always enforced. If, however, your account starts to affect the overall performance of the server, then we do need to have restrictions and policies in place. If an account is found to violate this, we will do our best to work with the client to give a 48-hour notice or no notice at all depending on the severity of the violation. We reserve the right to suspend an account and offer alternatives if it causes a severe problem to other accounts hosted on the server.

(2) VPS AUP

Customers may not initiate any of the following; if any customer does, LinuxFox reserves the right to suspend or terminate the VPS.

(A) Misuse of Resources: Intentional misuse of system resources, including but not limited to running programs that consume excessive network capacity, CPU cycles, or disk I/O that can affect the performance of other virtual machines hosted on the same hardware.

(C) Run any file sharing, bit torrent or other P2P network services, client or server software.
(D) Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, battlefield 1492, etc.

The five-minute load average of a VPS should not exceed eight (8). Please note that it is a soft limit and not always enforced, and you can run up to or even over it without issue. If, however, your VPS starts to affect the overall performance of the server, then we do need to have limits and policies in place. If an account is found to violate this, we will do our best to work with the client to give a 48-hour notice or no notice at all depending on the severity of the violation. We reserve the right to suspend a VPS and offer alternatives if it causes a severe problem to other virtual servers hosted on the same hardware.

You can host anything that is legal.
